Finally ordered my Download ticket this morning after hearing Ted Maul and DSHS have both confirmed! Thought I'd log on here (been like a year!) See whats going down! Anyway, with out being too much of a band whore, check out my band www.myspace.com/dantesascension if your feeling adventurous. Its always an ass to define our sound but. . . Gojira/StrappingYoungLad/RedChord? In the loosest sense of each lol.

Some bands have a street team to join and they are probably the best way to prmote a band, i'm a member of the Cinders Fall Street Team because they are an amazingly talented band from the UK that deserve to be massive! Check them out and spread the word!

I'm in a small UK band (check out our thread [8D]) The biggest problem we;ve encountered is the fact that the scene of live rock music is saturated in most big cities. I know promoters who will put 5 gigs on a week, with bands that they like & have got in from all over the UK & europe. It sounds good, but, they never have the time to promote the gigs & bands end up travelling hundreds of miles to play to just the bar staff, they can't get payed & noone leaves happy. I suppose, it's just an obsticle bands have to get over, but I think the same problem can occur on a bigger scale. I think that intrest in gigs is dying down a little bit aswell, maybe because of inflation or the credit crunch, but it seems to be happening from what I've seen. People need to be taught gig etiquet. at the sugarmill in stoke, you allways seem to get these kids who sit on the stage, with their back to the band & chat with their mates or text while the band is playing. How rude is that? the band could have travelled across the atlantic oor barely be breaking even from the gig.

Was at the Camden Barfly last Thursday to see Bassknives who were fronted by 2 x 3 Colours Red members they formed in 2005 after 3CR split as you know the drummer Keith Baxter died in January this year. But the supports were decent & 1 in particular was Godsized, they were very good & impressive. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=15191996 The other support ****shovel were pretty ok, all bands were British! Anybody know what happened to Mal Practice?

I actually think they'd do pretty good off it, they're not exactly bands that bring in the typical elitist metal head so i imagine a fair few people would be open to their style

True! Would be a pretty win tour to be fair... Hell if YAWA can get a good reception supporting Ephel Duath then surely a good reception anywhere is going to happen [8D]
