Like those mentioned above, memorable hooklines, squealing guitar solos and soaring vocals are what HeKz is all about. From the short pacey numbers to long drawn out epics, they'll take you on a journey through all things musical and mythical, but without losing that much needed sense of fun. With two EPs and a wealth of gigging experience under its collective belt, the band continues to thrive and, in the words of a certain Mr Iommi, "keeps the flag flying."
Live is where the band truly shines, bringing their songs to life as only they can, with an inherent spontaneity (and a bizarre dress sense) which only heightens the sense of excitement these boys can generate. Whether it be saddling up on someone's shoulders for an aerial guitar solo around the venue, getting down to it in a pair of furry bellbottoms or the pang of a cowbell, HeKz strive to put the "show" in "show" ;-). Fonz - Of these boards recently introduced me to this band!
They are fantastic! They can play, and the guy has got a quality voice! Hopefully i will get to see them live sometime!

Yeah they're from my hometown too. They needed/need (dunno now) a new drummer and I nearly auditioned, then decided it would be too hard to get my kit into bedford every week

As much as i love Hekz, all i can say is that there is no band worth joining that justifies going to Bedford. Its a geographic/biologic wonder, its the only town in the UK to have multiple arse-ends.

Very talented they may be. But they don't yet know the meaning of the phrase 'support band'. Last time I saw them they were support to Scar My Eyes and decided that they would play for over an hour! Granted the promoter should have stopped them but, they also should have had the decency to play a fair lengths set considering there were 3 bands on. All that aside, the singer and shortest guitarist are very talented for their age. They just need to be more original.

If you are a Bedford (Mordor) local then I offer no appology, I have to live near the hellhole. One good thing about it is that Hekz play there every now and again.
