I've had long-ish wavy dark brown hair for the past six years, recently gotten sick of it so had most of it chopped off two days ago [8||] Still not sure what to make of it but everyone says it looks nice. Least i don't have to worry too much about it at the fest, although it might have grown out a bit then.

I wouldn't have had the patience to sit and have my hair plaited like that. At previous fest's I've just washed it well the day I leave, scrunch dry it so it goes wavy and leave it Speaking of getting bored easily, i'm getting three more tattoo's done next Friday and how the hell i'm going to sit for three hours is beyond me. Might just take a book and my MP3!

samtastic This might have been mentioned already but thinking of giving this a go soon to see if it's any good. Would be awesome if it works as would mean straight hair for 3 days Hey, i bought some stuff similar to this, i think it is L'Oreal but it didn't really work for me but then again i have rather thick dry hair. At £7 i don't think its worth the investment tbh cus you only get a small bottle and speaking from experience it doesn't work as well as i hoped but then again you have a different hair type to me. If you have a spare £7, try it out, it may work well on your hair, if not then don't bother

I want to do something with my hair for Download this year - in the past I've just had it normal-style, but I want to dye it this time. I'm thinking either jet black with some blood red streaks/highlights, or maybe just a bright red all over... thoughts?

As for me this year I'm just dying my hair blue black to get rid of the roots that I have at the mo. My hair doesn't take well to alot of dyes which is a pain. Also my job doesn't let you have mad hair because they say it will scare the kids (work in a nursery)... I thought children liked bright colours.

Suggestons??? Be sure to have a base colour (aka majority of your wool dreads) the same or as similar to your hair colour as possible, and then just accent with whatever colours you like really. If you were to shove any old colours on without vaguely matching your hair colour anywhere then the braids just become so visible n look (imo) a bit pants tbh....

I currently have black and green hair, but I've decided to install dreads. The thought of greasy/faded/fuzzy hair at DL is just to awful to think of :( Yay dreads :D

This has probably already been asked on here but there's no way I can go through and read 136 pages! So.... I have quite long, thick, dark hair. It gets greasy VERY quickly - I have to wash it every day. I can go two days at the most even with dry shampoo, before it starts to look gross. What would people suggest for this? Also, if I wash my hair I won't be able to dry or straighten it and if I leave my hair to go dry, it just looks ridiculous. Turns into a big frizzy half-wavy-half-straight mess! I really don't know what to do! [8||]

well i spose it depends how much your willing to spend and how much effort you want to make with your hair whilst festivaling, were you interested in dread/wool/braid extensions? Or a simple and not too expensive suggestion would be a nice wig, you can get really cool and REAL looking ones (ie: not shiny n messy like the horrible ones you get from fancy dress shops) for under £20 on ebay, they usually come from hong kong tho so i'd advise ordering one of those pronto if you wanted to go down that route :).

I had long brown hair until recently, I couldn't leave mine for any longer than a few days without it going frizzy. I hated using hairdryers as they would make it worse so I used to towel dry it until slightly damp, comb through to get rid of knots and then scrunch dry with small amounts of mousse. Now I've got a short do' I can pretty much get out of bed in the morning with it sticking up everywhere and it looks perfectly fine

Hmm don't think dreads or anything like that would go down too well at work The wig idea is a good 'un though! Might give that some thought. There's a really good wig shop in Manchester so I might go and have a look. My friend just suggested that I wash my hair, towel dry it, put some mousse in it and tie it in plaits, then the next day, it'll be wavy but won't frizz because of the mousse! Genius!! She also said I can borrow her straighteners that run off a gas cannister or something. Would these be allowed??

technically no because they are gas, however the gas cannisters will be tiny and providing your friend doesn't get searched/the person searching her isnt aware they run off gas she may well get them through :) But yeah, if in doubt a wig and a good beanie hat on top (in the event it gets tatty or you can't be bothered to tuck your hair up meticulously under it) is a winning combo, saw me right at glastonbury last year when I couldn't be bothered with dreads so soon after download :)
