ORIGINAL: willow can ya actually get it done at download ? cuz im one lazy **** n would not be assed doing it myself and Ive had bad experience with dreads in the past o_0 im sure there would be people willing to install them there. you can either buy a dread kit off someone or buy manufactured dreads if theyre not to last a long time, and take them to the fest with you...im sure if you found some people with extensions in, chances are they may know how to put them in for you, if they had time.

I was going to get mine dreaded for the gig but I think I'll just back comb it all. I can get it to stand up stupidly big if I take enough time on it.

i've had braides for the past 4 festivals ive gone to and never had to worry about icky/greasy/hair but this year ive got rid of them and this will be my first festival with free hair thats well on it's way to reaching to my ass, any advice for how to keep it at least clean enough to touch or to not attract flies without restoring to the showers?

oh really? thats not good!!! erm...ill admit i used to put talcum powder in my hair when i was younger to absorb grease if i couldnt be bothered to wash it hahaha... apart from that, im not really sure, sorry. if hairs up in a plait or something it tends to not show the grease *as bad* as if its down i spose, or does it have to be down?

A quick way of doing natral dreads: - Get a chunk of hair ( not to big, something the size u would do a small plat with.)
- Twist it really tight and back comb it alittle.
- Once done that turn on your straighteners (hot) and press down hard on the dread for a few seconds. do this all the way down sepecialy on the ends to hold it. (Dont drag the straighteners down the hair like u would normaly straightening your hair. Just press down seperatly on different parts of the dread.)
- Once u have done your dreads a bit of hair spray will work wonders. Also if u have short hair with hair spray u can get the dreads to stand up on end like nails!
U can take the dreads out easy simply by washing, its a great thing to do wen ur going out to a gig! Enjoy

but then you have to faff about getting your hair up, getting them to sit right and if you want it to look really good then hiding your natural hair that shows.. extensions are soooo much better! it's a shame my job doesn't allow them and the roving makes my head itch so bad cos i love making and wearing them :( c'est la vie i guess!

I did those last summer in my hair! Except I used Point Five wool instead of synthetic hair, cause it was really cheap and gradiated so they wern't all the same shades. Also really easy as it cut out a few of those stages. Yeah, I know I'm well blotchy

roving's pretty cheap as well and much easier to make into dreads and they're sooo snuggly and warm and soft. like a pillow on your head..
