Amon Amarth @ University of Northumbria SU Entombed - 6/10 - got the crowd going and had a few awesome chugging riffs but in general not my thing. Hadn't really heard any of their stuff beforehand and they didn't inspire me to make the effort tbh. Amon Amarth - 8.5/10 - great setlist, awesome performance and they looked like they were absolutely loving it. -0.5 for not playing Valhall Awaits Me though Twilight of the Thunder God was an incredible opener though, stunning gig.

Clutch @ Manchester Academy Kamchatka - 6/10, not that bad actually, they seemed to be influenced a lot by Black Sabbath and the Beatles (weird combination i know [8D]) reminded me of Spiritual Beggars at times. Only 6/10 though because the lead singer's guitar was making an awful crackling noise through the first 2 or 3 songs, making it hard to enjoy. Kylesa - 8.5/10, Christ, these were loud, they pretty much punched me in the gut and ripped my face off when they kicked in, i didn't know they had 2 drummers either. [&o] who were pretty amazing, only got Static Tensions & Time Will Fuse It's Worth and everything they played tonight was on one or the other. Great performance. Clutch - 10/10, it would have to be something special to get a 10, and Clutch thoroughly deserve it, i had 3 songs on my head before the gig that i really wanted to hear (The Soapmakers, Electric Worry & Gravel Road) and i was hoping for one at the most, but got all 3 <3. the setlist overall was great too, Fallon..... you are God. Fantastic gig overall, 9/10.

ORIGINAL: Caino Clutch @ Manchester Academy Fantastic gig overall, 9/10. My review of this gig: Me and the woman had every intention of going and picking up a ticket on the door. Once out of work though, I was tired and it was raining and cold so we stayed in, ate some tea, watched some crap TV and went to sleep at 10.30. -1 billion metal points to me.

CKY - 7/10 Low score becuase i only know one of their songs, and just went for the laugh. They were good fun though, just some of the songs bored me.. But when THAT song came on, i was having a bloody excellent time.

Never Say Die! at Sheffield Corporation 3/10 5 boring support bands I saw, missed the only one I wanted to see, and then Architects were in a mood because their bus broke down earlier in the day so their performance wasn't up to the standard I know they can play. 30th time of seeing them and easily the worst, even though they played 'Every Last Breath' for the first time

Amon Amarth Koko ok the band were awesome, Entombed blew the roof off, but and this is abig BUT, the sound for both bands was shocking, entombed had hardly any guitars and the vocals were very low for 75% of the gig ,and Amon had no guitars at all for the first 2 songs , and again were very low and distant for most of the gig , set list was superb, just wish i could have heard more than just drums and bass So 8/10 for performance sadly a 4/10 for overall satisfaction just glad i saw them in the Forum and at BOA because it was like listening to a cd at the Forum, what a superb venue
Sonisphere 2010 BOA 2010 Dark Tranquility- Underworld Blind Guardian - Empire Alter Bridge- Hammersmith Volbeat- Electric Ballroom

ORIGINAL: youngsamuel Cancer Bats - Rock City Basement - Halloween All Nighter 8/10 Fucking brilliant show let down a little by a short set (50 mins) and limited 'banter' I only managed to see the final 3 songs, due to my girlfriends mates being douchebags (I cannot reiterate this fact enough.... utter douchebags) and not leaving the house til 11:45 and having to queue up outside for 25 mins even though we'd already booked tickets. Sorceress and Hail Destroyer was awesome enough for me though! Is Rock City always that unfriendly by the way? At most clubs I go to, people are courteous enough to wait if they can't get through to another room, but at RC, people were just barging through with no consideration for others! They felt my wrath if they tried shoving past me though... [/old man post]

Eastpak Antidote Tour - Birmingham 8/10 Was excellent. Alexisonfire were on top form and Cancer Bats playing Hail destroyer blew me away! We saw the band backstage throughout the gig and we joked about them playing, didn't actually expect it! Ghost of a thousand were good too, and Four year strong were alright. Didn't really enjoy Anti Flag though, bit bored of them now.

Canterbury 3/10 the sound was too loud and these bore me now. I would of rather just had more Gallows tracks played while i waited [8D] Cancer Bats 8/10 Better than Manchester Billy Talent 10/10 once again. Better than Manchester the banter was spot on.

Biffy Clyro 8/10 It would of been 9 if they played Jaggy Snake. They played a decent set vocals were amazing and the lack of bull**** talking was [sm=thumb.gif] Manchester Orchestra 7/10 They were pretty damn good and the keyboardist was nuts [8D] I will have to listen to them more. The main reason it's only a 7 is my fault that i didn't know the songs Pulled Apart By Horses 7/10 Also very very good band. The banter was terrible "Shall i check if ive shit myself"
