I got into the books a few years ago after someone got me The Hogfather for Christmas. Have about 8 or 9 books at the moment because i havent really read much of them tbh (been re-reading the Potter books too much [&o]) but after i finish the last in the series of Potters i'm going to read one more book that i used to like as a child and then read through my Pratchett collection But from what iv'e read my fave books are Fifth Elephant and The Hogfather.. Death and Death of Rats are my favourite characters, and most of the books i have have those in and a few of The Watch ones because they come second.

I can't remember what happens, though I remember Mort being brilliant. I feel a re-read coming on

I love the Discworld series, although I'm still only as far as Mort. I'd have to say Death is my favourite character so far.

Liking the Fifth Elephant love, I purged my bookshelves recently and the TP books which now remain are: Colour of Magic, Light Fantastic, Sourcery, The Fifth Elephant, Strata (because I can't remember it and want to re-read) and The Carpet People, got 9 or 10 more lying around waiting for the trip to Oxfam. I also acquired The Amazing Maurice a week ago which I'll read and then move on.

A serialised version of Guards Guards is going to start on BBC Radio 7 later, may be worth a listen.

I have been a Pratchett fan for years and even went to the discworld convention and met Terry (Yep I was THAT sad ) He was very nice and signed my copy of pyramids and told me about his cat. My fave character has to be DEATH BECAUSE HE TALKS IN CAPITALS AND YOU KNOW HIS VOICE WOULD MELT YOUR BONES. I also Love the witches Granny weatherwax reminds me of my mum lol. Top books have to be Reaper Man and Wyrd Sisters. [8D] [8D] [8D]

Just finished Unseen Academicals. Brilliant. More than once laughed out loud, and had a daft grin on my face for a lot of the rest of it. Superb.

I have been a Pratchett fan for years and even went to the discworld convention and met Terry (Yep I was THAT sad ) Terry Pratchett did a book signing in Milton Keynes Waterstones a couple of years ago. He was appearing at 5pm and I saw people were already queuing whilst walking to the office at 8am! Personally, I've never been able to get into Pratchett or, indeed, any sort of fantasy fiction. Stories of witches, goblins, elves etc do nothing for me, unfortunately.

Its more of a satirical take on the modern day world

There's no chance he doesn't have other plans for at least 3 of those characters!

Only actually got The Colour of Magic and two of the recent ones, Going Postal and Making Money. All very good entertaining books . I've read quite a few in the middle (around the time of Soul Music), mostly from the library, but years ago so I don't remember them that well. Then aside from Discworld, I've read Johny and the Bomb I think and the Diggers books. Really need to read more of his, nearly bought Nation in Asda a month or so back. Should've. Seems he's far too popular, every time I go to the library, all the Pratchett books seem to be out!

Carpe Jugulum is definitely my favourite, although Feet of Clay is a close second.
