Fantastic news this will benifit alot of people and if anyone thinks this isnt a good move for chelsea then your an idiot. 60k it just right for chelsea as people struggle to get hold of tickets all the time for stamford bridge. It will be missed as it was the first place i went to watch football but its time to move on.

Keeping the pillars as part of the ground is going to make for an iconic stadium. Our plans to build apartments, a shopping centre and help the Northern Line are all big advantages to the area too. Who knows, maybe they can keep Stamford Bridge as a residential academy for the youth squad, like La Masia for Barcelona.

Only thing is the CPO also owns the name Chelsea Football Club Ltd, which is licensed back to the club on condition that the first team play their home matches at Stamford Bridge. This means that should Chelsea move to another stadium in the future, they would not be able to use the name Chelsea Football Club without permission from 75% of CPO shareholders.

But I dont see there being a problem once it gets closer.
    Why do we expect 'forever'?

CPO seem to be pretty positive about it. Devil is in the detail, but I can see that being passed. Then it will be a matter of really selling our idea to the council and the sellers and fending off the other developers. Think this is probably going to be a goer.

Most new stadiums are souless. Ours will be new and shiny but with a massive amount of character, with the Power Station alongside the ground, along with the largest single tiered stand in world football.

Yep, I'm sold. It's iconic and a real money spinner for the club and the secret behind fighting FFP.

For those remotely interested, this is how insiders reckon our stadium at Battersea would fit into the Power Station. We can demolish one of the turbine halls as they are unlisted. Four towers, remaining turbine hall would be renovated.

Then of course the surrounding area will also be developed with retail, leisure, housing and a new tube station.

A lot of work needs to be done on the infrastructure, mind. Boris Johnson's aide has said that the site isn't set up to deal with 60,000 fans and therefore without work the plans are ambitious and a 'no goer'. Still, they haven't seen the details of our bid yet, and our contribution to extending the tube could turn out to be a deciding factor.

That's a riot waiting to happen when you put the Away fans so close.

I think youd have enough funds to build 4 stands

Id like to see it happen tbh

Erm... yeah, there's obviously going to be four stands. Just fans/architects have speculated how the plans would work as there isn't enough room for a 60,000 seater stadium inside the Power Station. The plans apparently say that the West Stand would be built where the unlisted East Turbine hall is currently.

Away section wouldn't have nearly been decided yet. Hopefully we'll stick them up in the Gods like Newcastle and Barcelona do.

Pretty much what our proposals would look like. Obviously fill into the corners with walls/other guff and add a roof to each stand.

Superb game last night! Very pleased an English club won the champs league. Would be very strange not to give Roberto the job now.

Why we haven't offered him the job already is beyond me.
