kristoff624 /Steven started getting quite into it in the offseason and draft, reckon he'll join too. Thought I'd post in the footy thread now because they're a bit more regular than general and seemed to enjoy the superbowl That was a good idead as there was quite a few that got really into the Superbowl but because that was the end of the season I think the interest dried up a bit. Hopefully we can get more involved. If we can get more than the 8 that would be great. Unfortunately a few of the big NFL followers haven't posted in a while like Nozz and D_loogs and Villageporter. I'm sure we will get at least 8 though.

Hospital Fat Bags Count me in. Watched the NFL on and off for a couple of years, and wanted to learn more about it for a while now. Chargers fan by the way. It should be straightforward enough for anyone still learning, the website has loads of pages about which players are a good/bad choice and who might be a sleeper hit. Also for anyone not 100% sure how the draft works you can take part in as many mock drafts as you like to practice and see how it works. Also as it's a custom league I have full control over the rules/options/points scoring so I can make it as easy as it needs to be. I think the Chargers should have a good season this year. They had a poor start last year but then had a late charge (pardon the pun). If they had that form throughout the season there is no reason they can't get to the conference final. It is quite tight on the AFC side but I think the Chargers are a bit underrated and you have a good looking schedule too. You'll get a lot further than the Steelers anyways

Who are the Detroit Brian's? I thought with everyone being a bit cleverer than I was with picking names, I thought I would change mine. I was going to go with the Oakland Panty Raiders but I thought I would take the pi ss out of the Chiefs instead.

Will throw in a couple of Chargers for sure. You won't be able to pick players until we have all the managers signed up. It's not like fantasy football for the Premier league where we can all have Lampard in midfield and we pick the whole team at once. A player can only go to one team. We pick players like the draft the NFL had with the college players moving up to the NFL but we will be able to pick from the whole of the NFL's players. So lets just say for example in our draft the order is Me 1st Pick, You 2nd, Tek 3rd and Kris 4th and so on. I would pick a player first, say Drew Brees and then you get one player, say P. Manning, then Tek picks one, then Kris and then everyone else in the league. Once they have all picked one player it starts with me again to pick one player, then you, then Tek, then Kris etc and it continues like that until all the teams have filled up. That way we all have different teams and it's fair as in theory all the best players would be spread out among our teams. I've got my eye on a couple of Steelers for my team but I will have to be smart, ignore my blind faith and not pick Leftwich for QB.

I've got my eye on some (see: All) Falcons too. I can't work out if I think we're going to do better than expected, or if it's blind homerism. I think it's homerism. It's best to pick players in order of how many points you think they'll get you, so for example good RBs go first because they get more points than anyone else. Read up on stuff made by people like Michael Fabiano, it should help a lot.

Basically, and we'll have a draft (later this week I'm guessing) where everyone picks their players like, as Heroofwar said, in the actual NFL Draft. That'll be manual, but ranking your players makes it easier to find who you want and if you miss the draft, the computer wll pick according to who your rankings.

I'll have a ganders at this at some point tonight. Only did the Pro Football pics on facebook last season so it'll be to do some fantasy football aswell. Right, I've signed up as the Wisconsin Weiners. Just having a read through this thread and on the site to get a better understanding of how it all works.

I don't think so. Remember to save it regularly too, I made the mistake of not doing that.

i'll join up later when i've had a look through. i do post here from time to time but i never bother keeping up with things once the draft is over so i last posted on draft day i used to suck at the nfl uk one but i fealt that was more down to the overpricing of alot of the players meaning you had to get lucky with the guys you picked each week to score well. edit: wait have you filled all your spaces yet?
