Game Of Thrones

Pretty good episode this week. Good to finally see Renly and Brienne. Margaery was quite a treat too.

Thankfully this episode didn't deviate too far from the book. The capturing of Yorens group was slightly different, but all they've really done is speed things up a bit. I'm guessing we'll get to see this new actor as Gregor Clegane next week.

Defo the best episode for me so far, however i still feel the series is lacking. The first series i was drawn into nearly every episode, whilst i've struggled getting into the second series. Fingers crossed they keep improving really need to keep reading the books.

I enjoyed the episode, it's gone past where I've read now so everything is a surprise but thankfully knowing most of the characters from what I have read I'm still following. Was good to see Renly, had no idea he and Loris would be at it! All I remembered about Renly was that he looked like Peter Bishop from Fringe.

This.  I didn't notice until they were walking together but she is monumentally huge. 
 
I also thought at first that she wasn't THAT ugly, but actually the more I saw her the uglier she got!

Worth saying that's a ADWD spoiler, not a TV one. Cause it's a HORRIBLE spoiler if someone reads it thinking they're safe at episode 3.
 
To answer it however, I think if he doesn't, it's more likely true. Bittersweet and all that.

The prologue of ADWD is really tipped to be the way he carries on until whats her name realises who he is.

Fair point. I was far too content with finally getting ninja text to work to realise.
 
Quite glad with the Margaery casting, for some reason I always imagined her to have a really annoying face. Always wondered how they'd work Renly being gay in the show also,  seems to work as Margaery is weird enough to go along with it.
 

 

Watching Tyrion as the Hand is probably the most fun thing I've seen in ages. Very watchable.
A lot of the kings landing things have been really solid this season so far, I assume we'll get more of Dany later.

They're not really mentioned too much in the books apart from briennes story.

During the War of the Five Kings, Renly Baratheon declared himself king of the Seven Kingdoms after the death of his brother, King Robert. To reflect his status, he created the Rainbow Guard, a fanciful version of the Kingsguard. Each of the seven members were given a color of the rainbow.

• Ser Loras Tyrell, Lord Commander
• Brienne of Tarth, the Blue
• Ser Bryce Caron, the Orange
• Ser Emmon Cuy, the Yellow
• Ser Guyard Morrigen, the Green
• Ser Parmen Crane, the Purple

Episode 4: Season now in its stride. Some events I thought would be later take place so we should be into the relentless build for THAT event in the penultimate episode.
 
EDIT: New Gregor is BIG. But lanky. You wouldn't describe him as a mountain. More a drainpipe. Even clad in all his gear.

It's a different actor. More drainpipe than mountain.
 
Regarding Storms End, I just presumed the two events will now happen at much the same time, rather than the Storms End  one happening after the other one. A two pronged attack rather than successive ones.
 
I trust that's vague enough to be totally spoiler free whilst being clear enough to anyone who knows what "the events" are!

I can see the new mountain being more solemn than the last actor who looked utterly ferocious in the Jousting scene.

Damn good episode. Definitely looks like they are merging the siege of Storms End and the other event. I don't think they've really explained what's going on for those who haven't read the books though. For those that are curious, Storms End is the ancestral home of the Baratheon family (in the same way that Casterley Rock is the home of the Lannisters and Winterfell is for the Starks). Renly currently holds it, but Stannis wants to claim his family home for himself.

Brill episode this week, first one of the 2nd season that I've thought was on a par with the 1st season.

I've gotten over them fiddling with the order of things, but as people have said, The Drainpipe that Rides is a tad stupid. Still don't think that there's enough dialogue for him throughout the entire series, to justify changing the actor on those grounds. The season 1 Gregor looked an absolute beast.

 

Yeah, Gregor doesn't say much through the series. So I can't imagine they changed the actor for someone better spoken. I heard that they had to recast him because the old actor is busy filming the Hobbit. Not sure if that's true though.

Yeah the old Gregor is playing Azog..fair enough really,would be difficult to turn down The Hobbit.

Ending was a bit ****.

That was a queef and a half 

 

This weeks episode was pretty good.
 
I know there's undead winter creatures and dragons in this show, but I find a shadow demon a bit gay.

Pyat Pree is suitably weird looking.

Really like how the series is building up now.  They seem to have taken more liberties with the plot this season, but it's still the best thing on telly jus now by a country mile

Well, Jaqen, Arya, Tickler totally ruins a very, very important scene later which is intrinsic to someone's characterisation.
 
I'm still thoroughly enjoying things, but with lots of changes this season that I don't think really effect things overall, that' the first one I think is a big mistake.

Although that was a bit of a shock, shame to see him go, last week I couldn't decide who I wanted to win out of Stannis and him.
Guess it's settled. Shame it was the bullshit monster though. The fantasy things are my least favourite part.
