A bit late to the party, but "The People Under the Stairs" freaked me out a bit as a kid. Then there's all the usual ones like Poltergeist, Halloween. Halloween was actually made even scarier for me when a bookshelf collapsed while watching. Pants were shat.

I think that'd scare me even now. Brown pants are excused.

I think its my favorite Arrow release so far.  The 70's gave the World the best exploitation flicks ever.

Anyone within spitting distance of London should make sure they get tickets for this!  Fulci's Gate's of Hell Trilogy (The Beyond, City of the Lving Dead, House by the Cemetary) all on the big screen back to back.  You lucky bastards!

I watched A Serbian Film for the first time the other day... just amazing! The ending was just absolutely brutal, right up my street :)

Can't be bothered to read the entire thread but I'm sure someone would have mentioned Irreversible (or anything by Gaspar Noé), Cannibal Holocaust, Ichi the Killer and all the obvious ones.

I've been downloading some budget horror films recently, haven't watched them yet but theres one called Antfarm Dickhole which is about a guy who has a colony of ants living in his dick. Then theres a zombie film set at a "special" school called Special Dead.

Well, I guess A Serbian Film had to have at least one fan.

I'm not sure I could watch City... again. Does anyone seriously know what the Hell is going on at any given time? Its just like a bunch of scenes put together with no rhyme or reason. Would love to see The Beyond and House... on the big screen though!

Just found a Facebook group, Occupy Midian: http://www.facebook.com/groups/occupymidian/

campaigning for Morgan Creek to get their arses in gear and get the full 2.5hour extended cut of Clive Barker's Nightbreed released, restored to the way Clive intended before the studio hacked it to bits.  There's been talk of this happening for years, but it seems to be picking up momentum with a festival screening in March.  Sign the petition if you give a fuck!

Ahhhh, I've heard of this. I also heard plans of a sequel being made too?! Never really been much of a Clive Barker fan myself though. I'd much rather some studio find and release the full 3 hour version of LHODES. That'd be a trip!

I think it was a TV series rather than a sequel, but I love Clive Barker.  Books > Clive Barker directed films >>>>> other CB adaptations.

Haven't watched the restored version of LHODES yet, but with a week of Freeleech on Cinemageddon I now have enough trashy exploitation and horror on my PC to keep me going until the third or fourth coming of christ.

Clive Barker is brilliant, but completely ****ed up.

Absolutely, some of the stuff that floats around his head defies belief!

I really like Lovecraft, but he gets away with not having to describe the horrors in his work and instead falls back on the old 'so horrific it sent me mad' chestnut.  Whereas Clive describes the fuck out of the indescribable

I quite like the cover art he did for Fangoria a few years ago. That was pretty cool.

And definitely check out the restored LHODES if you have it, Hud. Its probably my favorite 70 horror flick, if not favorite horror flick of all time.

Listen up chum and chumettes. Arrow are doing a Tromathon and releasing 'Class of Nuke 'em High' 'Surf Nazis must Die' and fucking 'Combat Shock'!!! For people who haven't seen Combat Shock I'd SERIOUSLY recommend picking that up!

Probably in the 20 quid ballpark, Paul. I'd get the Troma release though. It has the 'American Nightmares' version of the film that I doubt will be on the Arrow release. The end of the AN version is insaaaaaane!
