Jezebel

Iwill ask about lockers but also remember that the majority of people have cars with them or people with cars.

Jezebel , i know you are busy with loads of things BUT can you please get us an update on the lockers in RIP . Because even though most people will have a car with them , they are still handy for keeping keys , cards in .
Thanks .

One or two ways to secure your tent while sleeping is one, get a largish safety pin and when you zip up for the night pin the zip closed, if you really wish to make sure you can buy door alarms that have a bit of string again rig it so if the zip is opened all hell is let loose. Put stuff in your car that's one of the joys of the RIP site but even when you do bury your valuables under stuff, I have found in the past if i need to stash cash etc dirty cloths bags a fairly good place. and the stuff  like wallets etc put them in a cloth bag and put them in the bottom of your sleeping bag by your feet in short make it hard for the scum and have a plan so you know what your doing even if your mind is somewhat blurred by substances.

It wasn't RIPpers last year - it was people coming in to the site and stealing stuff.

Storing your valuables in a car is one of the bonuses of RIP. If you haven't travelled by car you could try making friends with someone who has. That shouldn't be too difficult in most cases.

Just make sure u put your car keys somewhere safe as I heard of people last year getting bags nicked with keys in and as the car is next to the tent it was easy to find.

I'm genuinely shocked that this would happen in RIP. Such a close knit community and someone comes in and disrupts that? How did they get in?

We were camped at the far end away from the enterance and it was easy for anyone to come into the campsite, as there was just a gate and a low fence that lead out to a field. After the robberies happened security did spend more time there, but prior to that we didn't see any security there. We said the moment we got there it looked a bit dodgy being open like that. Luckily we were not touched, but we did make it rather complicated to get to any of the doors on our tents due to how we set up around the shared gazebo. I do hope they put a big fence up there this year.

I can't believe secuirty teams. They're some of the most expensive tickets. People are paying amongst other things, for piece of mind. Security should be a main priority. I sincerely hope they did something about it...

Yes they did and they continue to do so.
Things will be different this year for sure and sad that the security has to be stepped up but expected.

One of the main things people need to do is make sure that if you see anyone that is not a RIPcamper to inform the security... Even if it is a mate that has sneaked in behind you - you need to inform them on the gate as to be fair it means the security has been compromised and best nip it in the bud straight away... even if they are not likely to steal but means the security have not been vigilant enough and we need them to be.

Yeah exactly. Usually it is the best place to be for the weekend, but it takes just one person to ruin that for others... As I said, they're a close bunch and I'm sure they'll all look out for each other. :)

Afraid the first night last year they stole my cash & spare change, oh they left me 20p, as our tent had two seperate rooms I thought it was my mate coming back from the toilet, they didnt take my cards & phone.
My advice is have your money / wallet on you when you sleep.

Something to think about! If you have a car with keyless entry, which is quite popular now, how far from your car do your keys need to be to allow entry? Last year I left my keys in the tent and tried this out, the answer was that the keys needed to be on the far side of the tent or anyone could open my car whilst I was sleeping.
