Re:RIP FAQs 04 May 2012 19:09 (permalink)
Last year was the first year that RIP was booked through Ticketweb and I didn't check to see if my order status changed at any point - I don't know if any other RIPpers did. I think it's Live Nation Experience that despatch the RIP passports.

RIP passports are usually only sent out a couple of weeks before the festival, so I wouldn't expect them for another three or so weeks.

Can anyone answer this simple question for me please. I have two RIP campervan tickets. There are none left. I want to have my sone in a pup tent on our pitch. Will he be allowed there if he has an RIP camping ticket which isnt a campervan ticket? Or will he have to camp in a different area? Hope someone can help!

Hello, if he has a camping ticket, he can ask the stewards if he allowed to camp next you but from what I remember the campervan/caravan spaces are gravel so not suitable for tents.

There are some gravel spaces for campervans but also lots that go on grass.  I've got a camper and been on grass the last 2 years with a friend in a small tent next to me.

Are the Luxpads Packages for tow people or do you have to buy two separate packages?

                    Couple o' questions:
The last time I camped in RIP ('09), we didn't arrive til about 8pm on the Thursday because of traffic and had a lot of trouble finding somewhere to pitch two 3-man tents - I got the impression that if we'd been any later there would would have been some serious issues with actually finding the space to camp. This year I'm planning on either arriving later on the thursday or early friday because of work and was just wondering - has the situation got any better or am I likely to turn up on friday morning and have nowhere to pitch? I know theoretically that they can't let that happen, but if someone could put my mind at rest it would be wonderful!

Also, I've heard talk of there being somewhere to plug in hairdryers/straighteners - I don't seem to remember this from last time. Where was it?

They will find space for you - just talk to the stewards when you arrive.

The info about the place for drying hair/using straighteners is covered in point 29 in my original post on this thread - Is there anywhere I can dry/straighten my hair/put on my makeup in RIP? Yes - there is a yurt (The Dressing Room) near the RIP site entrance that has tables, chairs, lit mirrors and plugs for hairdryers and straighteners - you need to bring your own hairdryer/straightener.

Did we get any clarification on lockers in the RIP campsite? and if so, do we know if they have phone chargers in them! Cheers

Our train doesn't arrive in Derby till 10:30 on Wednesday night so there's no chance of us making it across to Donington for 11 (stated time registration closes). We're in the podpad section, so would we have to wait till Thursday to get in or would they let us in? Never noticed when we booked the train so its our fault if they won't.

                              Thanks

You should be fine - bring some rope or tape to mark off your area tho just incase.

Hi guys just a quick question, I am going to be using a couple of disposable bbq's and my stove this year.  I see that you mentioned using bricks so that the grass doesn't get burnt, where do you get the bricks from? Cheers.

They have bricks available next to the empty gas bottle cage, you can help yourself and then return them when you're done.
