luckysalt Isn't there really strict rules on once you enter you can't leave and return and booze limitations here? Never been just heard some bad things about it This is partly the reason I didn't buy a ticket last year. Did anyone go last year?

Was told once we were in we could return to the car for booze so we took a half a crate in (seeing as we drank half of it while we were queued for so long) and all our bags, and took the other crates back to the car with our aerosoles which we couldnt take in either. When we reached the entrance around 3 hours later we were told no alcohol could be readmitted once we were through. It was either go back and queue for another 3 hours and miss the bands on friday or just drink at the car. Once you were in it was a great little festival though

WarBastardGoesNorth How much are tickets usually? Converge are playing a festival in the Czech Republic a week after this. Have a new album out as well, heres hoping. I'd be all over this if they did. And some of my mates went the year before last, they said security.etc was terrible, but that the festival itself was Excellent. I want to go this year assuming the lineup is as excellent as the previous two years.

.Kiba. Lower Than Atlantis have a HUGE announcement tomorrow according to their facebook Looks like we have a headliner Would be elated but are they big enough to headline? Even for such a small festival? Then again they did just sell out their whole UK tour. Hopefully by then they'd have a new album out and they'd be on their way to being as massive as they deserve to be.

Hopefully by then they'd have a new album out and they'd be on their way to being as massive as they deserve to be. LTA headlined the friday last year (the friday was supposedly a warm-up party type of thing), and the tent was packed to the point where it was impossible to get in. Given how much they've grown in popularity since then and the new album they're working on, I'd say they could probably headline. I wouldn't be too keen on it though, i'd rather the hour and a half headline slot go to a band that won't be at every other festival this summer (pretty massive assumption here actually).

Somewhat interested in this... I've heard it's a good festival, bit it seems very expensive considering the size of the bands that usually play. About £100 for a weekend ticket, and you only get roughly equivalent to Download's third and fourth stages by the look of it. And I think it's only two days of music as well?

About £100 for a weekend ticket, and you only get roughly equivalent to Download's third and fourth stages by the look of it. And I think it's only two days of music as well? Saturday and Sunday has 4 stages open from 1pm - 11pm, whilst Friday has 2 stages open from 4pm - 11pm, so there's roughly 80 - 100 bands playing over the weekend. Ticket price also includes entry to the animal park, which rules, and the festival has a great atmosphere. I guess if you think about it in terms of the size of bands playing, then it is somewhat expensive, but if you look at it as an opportunity to see a load of GREAT smaller bands all in the same place, then it works out. I guess it really depends on taste. A lot of the time when I attend big festivals I pay £200 and spend the majority of my time around the smaller stages - so for people like me going to a smaller festival such as Hevy and paying £100 to see all the bands on all the stages just seems like a better idea. I'm not entirely sure if that makes sense, but I tried.

I suppose it's a unique experience to see smaller headliners play full sets at an open air festivals. When else are you gonna get to see Glassjaw do a headline set outdoors?

Pretty good point as well. It's somewhat refreshing seeing bands that usually open the main stage at bigger festivals as headliners. I have no idea where they're going to go with tomorrow's announcement; they obviously found their niche as a hardcore / punk / metal festival last year, but I'm finding it hard to see how they're going to avoid repeat undercard bookings if they stick within those genre brackets.

No headliners yet, I'll wait to see those before buying a ticket.
