Bloodstock 2012 - 10 January 2012 03:22
May as well actually start a thread for this years instead of using the one from last. Line up so far

Thoughts on the line up so far? I'm pretty happy with it but it seems to be getting a lot of negative comments elsewhere. Behemoth probably shouldn't be headlining but since I love them I don't really care from a selfish stand point. Plus with it being their first headline performance they're gonna give it massive welly, unlike that half arsed performance by Motorhead this year.

Pissed off they moved the date back a weekend from the original dates, means I needa miss the Friday of Metalcamp in order to fly back.

Pretty standard lineup atm, enough to confirm me going anyway. Hatebreed and TBDM are certainly gonna be interesting.

Can see Savage Messiah being confirmed for this at some point, what with the release of their new album and their record deal.

Would love to see Cynic on the bill as well. And some Norweigan Shining. Make it happen.

CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it was CoC with Pepper I'd be there. But at the moment the line-up's looking a bit meh - seen most of those bands a fair few times now.

Mcroper

Well for a start The Prodigy won't headline Download,

Deicide confirmed, as long as they turn up that should be awesome, were fantastic at Metalcamp last year.

I know what you mean about it being a pretty standard line up but I just love Bloodstock and for the price of the ticket I always get value for money.

Any idea who the 3rd headliner is? Going with Cannibal Corpse, they subbed last time and a new album/tour ect .. Want to see Gojira and Ghost Brigade on the line up also.

The undercard for this is looking pretty good, but none of the headliners interest me so far. Is there anything for me to do while they're on? And would it be worth the price?

Quite excited for Iced Earth, they were brilliant when they played in Birmingham in November.

Just seen the line-up page on their websites. They've got two 'special guests' (Dimmu and Testament) and they're playing one after the other on Saturday? So it'll be special guest followed by special guest followed by headliner?

I hear people are butt-hurt over Hatebreed playing because they are tr00 metal enough? But Alice Cooper headlining is?

Just got up yes I skimed it and now look like a fool

It cant be Manowar because all the Manowar fans in the UK would be there even if Manowar werent. Has to be someone to sell extra tickets

Machine Head possibly

Machine Head or Megadeth doing an album in its entirety. Or Van Halen. Maybe Manowar.

I'd be surprised if it's not one of these.

Re:Bloodstock 2012 - 13 March 2012 15:52
It's blatantly Slayer. The date of the announcement is 6/6 at 6pm and the fact they're not announcing til then fits in with the fact that it's after their ATP gig. While most people would consider ATP a festival, it's not an outdoor, 3-day thing so Bloodstock will probably think that doesn't count. The 'special' thing will be them doing Reign in Blood in its entirety
Coming Up:
Journey/Whitesnake - Sheffield
Megadeth - Manchester
Download Festival
Hellfest
Bloodstock
Y & T - York
Alter Bridge - Manchester

Re:Bloodstock 2012 - 13 March 2012 16:08
Either Machine Head, Megadeth or Slayer. Given current tour dates Machine Head are definitely the most likely as they are playing all over Europe at that time. Megadeth have no dates after June but have loads of European dates up until then and Slayer are in America until the 5th of Aug, can't see them flying back over.

6/6 will be because of Download and the 6pm thing will be a mixture of usual announcement time and because Bloodstock announcers are cheesy like that. Doubt it'll have any significance as to who the band is.
