DJ-Soundwave 20 February 2012 17:01 (permalink)

Originally, in 2006, the idea was to be a Rock DJ that could mix/scratch;
Obtaining respect from dancefloors across the midlands - DJ-Soundwave dominated the local scenes and has been a resident DJ in clubs nationwide since the age of 18 and still continues to destroy dancefloors
- 52 weeks a year!

From nights up north in Newcastle, to nights ''daaan saaaf'' in London,
nowhere is safe from DJ-Soundwaves mix of dirty guitar riffs and low bass frequenices..

And we all know Decepticons are world-wide, right!?
So here we all are.

                             Operation Youtube
The DJ-Soundwave project: Commenced Christmas '08.
The idea: To make Rock/Metal remixes.
The name: Inspired by four very specific factors:

1) Reminiscent of DJ Starscream from Slipknot
2) The first scratch learned was the Transformer Scratch
3) Soundwaves are audible acoustic waves which is how sound travels
4) Soundwave is the Decepticon that plays music...

Progressing from the early days of the local MySpace community,
videos began appearing all over Youtube - credited as DJ-Soundwave in '09.
These mixes would be heard by stars such as Pendulum, Gallows, Enter Shikari and even Slipknot's #0 himself - Sid Wilson

Origianlly learning the skill of mixing via Youtube,
The pupil had come home to his masters, and forged his own Kingdom.
Making original Rock/Metal remixes and Mash-Ups!

The main source for all things DJ-Soundwave is Youtube.com, simple and easy.

                                       Download 2010
Download Festival, Donington Park.
The holy grail of all things Rock/Metal.

Download hold the 'Boardie Takeover', DJ-Soundwave was booked on 11pm.
No need to state the obvious, but it was the biggest achievement his career.

This DJ slot was scheduled to be 45 minutes, but lasted over 3 hours!!!
The acts booked after the DJ set were turned away and the party rolled on 'til 2am
The tent hit capacity at midnight and stayed like that with ques outside 'til the end.

From all the nights locked in empty clubs, spending weeks trying to get a remix sounding right on the home studio, watching the endless Youtube videos and reading tons of books - all of that was building Soundwave up for the one moment that could showcase years of skills in one night - Download 2010!

It was a sheer dream come true and felt more than privileged to be a part of it.
So to all of the Decepticons that where there that night - THANK YOU!!!

                                              Summer 2011
After the amazing responce from the previous year,
DJ-Soundwave was called back to Download Festival for Round #2!
Make no mistake about it Decepticons, the pressure was on - 100%.

The 'End Tent' got an upgrade, a bar fitted and new name - The Doghouse!
And standing next to the likes of BBC Radio 1's Daniel P Carter, Lady Starlight, Alt Girl Massacre, MetalHammer and Xfm DJ's too!? - DJ Soundwave was literally the underdog.

And to top it off - where the crowd in 2010 kept Soundwave on longer, the exact opposite happened in 2011 and they stopped letting people in because of the sheer mayhem and carnage on the floor...

Riot-like-Mosh-pits, beers flying around, hell raising from head to toe.
DJ-Soundwave then added 500 glow-sticks and a bottles of J.D to the crowd.

The entire weekend was a full line-up of all-star bands, but it felt like an entire different show in The Doghouse over the weekend nights. It was Downloads very own nightclub, and it was filled with the greatest crowd from all over the entire world, pulling in to see what all the fuss was about!

After it was all said and done -
Ultimate Power came on to takeover the show and mopped up what was left of the mess beforehand..

I never thought I'd be able to play Download once,
So believe me, it was a sheer dream come true and felt more than privileged to be a part of it. Again!
So to all of the Decepticons that where there that night - THANK YOU TOO!!!

                                          Here and Now

Well, here and now is just the word 'nowhere' re-arranged...
Sooo, what is all the fuss about, right!?!
