This is nothing like that. It's aimed at blokes as men gain weight round their middles whereas women are more likely to gain mass around their bums/thighs first.

Tainted_Barbie Dead Mike To any blokes wanting to reduce their beer guts/midrift I'd 100% recommend reading 'Waist Disposal' by Dr John Briffa. Someone recommended me Skinny Bitch. I assume for similar effect but it was a load of balls. Feminist rubbish, trying to sway femmes towards veganism. I was not impressed. Someone recommended me that book a few months ago aswell, had a little look at it online and decided against it as it looks absolute mince! Weight loss is a go for me at the minute, joined weight watchers the other week to see if it helps any with my motivation and surprisingly it has.. I think its more the 'I dont want to go get weighed in front of people and have gained/not lost anything' mentality.

I have become a gym junkie!! I started going about a month ago and was doing the running machines and cross trainers - some weights - then I discovered "classes" - last week I did Circuit Training with weights, Zumba and Body Pump - I lost 3lb the first week - nothing the second week but have toned up in some areas. I lost a stone doing the Cambridge Diet - spent the whole 4 weeks starving on 480 calories a day - I came off it though cause I got an eye infection and it wasnt healing as my body wasnt getting enough calories to encourage the healing process. Never went back on it cause I like eating too much. I have cut out full fat Irn Bru, crisps and cut back on treats and sweets. Im eating smaller portions more regularly and am completely addicted to the gym classes now - actually felt terrible cause I never got to go on Friday night lol Plus I have my horse and am training for some Showjumping and Cross Country classes which are pretty tough going - so fingers crossed I will lose a stone before Download and be more toned and fitter

emmahrockstar Well I had to be weighed by no choice of my own at my nurse on monday and yeah I ain't telling on here what it was! I just don't like weighing myself. I'd rather get a measuring tape out and you know see from there. I have set myself goals of what I hope to be able to wear by certain times. My skinny jeans was successful :) By download I hope for jean shorts. Fingers crossed. Back at the gym on monday hoping my tattoo is a bit more healed by then. Im wearing jean shorts this year despite putting on about 2 stone since last year haha I just bought a bigger size Im a total yo yo! Was a size 24 in 2005. Lost 7 stone between 2005-2008 and was a size 14 until about 2 years ago when I finished uni and all the regular exercise and now im a size 18 sad times lol!

Fat loss is easy. From a purely biological perspective. The only trouble is with will power and motivation. There are no tricks, it's just calories in vs calories out. You don't even need to do any cardio. I recently did a keto diet. Which is close to no carbs, fairly high protein and high fat. Very good diet for those who weight train. 12 days of it and I lost 3/4 inch from my waist and I have now stopped it to go on a bulking diet.

I lost 2 stone over about 6 months, but I do heavy weights 3/4 times a week so I've put on a decent amount of muscle too, old clothes don't fit, and I have decent muscles now. I still have a lot of work to do to get to my target.

Mad ownage, that sucks majorly :( Is there any chance of you getting said job back if you increase your fitness levels? I lost a cheeky pound this week, which considering my very boozy weekend is a bit of a miracle. Hitting the gym today :)

The best way too lose weight is eat clean, low GI carbs like brown rice and brown pasta, loads of vegies brocolli, cauliflower are great! Loads of fruit of course for your sugar levels and lean protein like chicken and steak, mostly chicken though if you are trying to lose weight. For the exercise side of things i would suggest resistance weight training with the free weights, start with machines to get your technique right you dont want to injure yourself :). Finally i suggest HIIT cardio it is basically short bursts of cardio at different paces, for example putting the treadmill at the highest setting and sprinting for thirty seconds then 30 seconds off for 20 mins. Trust me if you follow these guidlines you will lose the weight gradually and healthily. Weightloss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. Sorry if i have mentioned some stuff that others already have. Good luck with your weightloss!

Weight Loss & Tone - Diet Nutrition is the main ingredient here; the key is to eat frequently to keep your metabolism high and your body burning calories all day long. Avoid starchy carbohydrates after 3pm. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is where you can get away with carbs as you will burn them off during the day i.e. porridge, Weetabix, wholegrain bread. Try to eat every 2.5 to 3 hours. A small snack between meals such as yogurt, fruit, nuts or a protein shake will help with keeping your metabolism high. Get your carbs in at Lunch; try and eat wholegrain as much as possible, brown rice, wholegrain pasta, sweat potato etc. After work is when most of the damage is done. Avoiding carbs here is important as we tend not to be as active when we go home. Fish/Chicken/turkey with green Veg is ideal. As the old saying goes; breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper! Weight Loss & Tone – Exercise Resistance training combined with a balanced diet is ideal for toning & weight loss. When we talk about weight loss we should really focus on bring down our percentage body fat, if we drop fat and stay the same weight this means we have more muscle. Muscle helps us look toned and muscle burns more calories than fat does i.e. the more muscle we have the more fat we burn when we are at rest. Sometimes women are afraid of resistance training as they are afraid of bulking up (gaining too much muscle, this is not the case as women produce a lot less testosterone than men. It would take years of heavy lifting and an intensive diet to get this effect. Basically don’t be afraid of the weights) We should exercise every day for at least 30 minutes. Take the stairs instead of the lift, cycle to work, walk to work, go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week. Set goals for yourself! Keep your body guessing! This is the guide ive been working to for the past 5 months. it was extremely difficult at the start but once you get into a rountine its easier to stick to. If you put the work in you can give yourself a cheat day once a week and have the foods you have been craving. some may think this would undone the good work but in truth you more likely to stick to you general plan if you know you will get a treat. Its best to mix up you exercise rountine every 6 weeks. Hope this is of some help to people. Roll on June:)

Biggest mistake iv seen people do is thinking that if they skip lunch they will lose wait, your body needs food no matter what otherwise it will not function properly. As the firs poster said, excersise more and try different foods and different ammounts, every body is different so what worked for someone else wont always work for you , the best way to go about it is test different things each week and then examin the results, whichever week you find yourself having the best results do that. Its kinda like the gym , people believe if you do this and that you will get big, wrong, every body is different and has there limit and the biggest mistake veryone makes is thinking that if it works for the other guy it will work for me, But it wont because your body is unique like everyone else, So work at it and you will find the best way for you, going and using other big theorys and them not working only demoralises you. Inbox me if you want real information on how to gain/lose weight, my brother owns 2 gyms and its painful to see many people dedicating there lifes only to find out they're not getting anywhere because they've gone on the internet, read a book and listened to some bull**** celebrity. As i said , your body is unique , So find out what is best for you body by testing and comparing which results you have each week. Also, Weigh yourself in the morning before you've ate anything if you want to find out the TRUE weight of your body.
