Rammstein a good call...not seen them yet. AC/DC 's 40th Anniversary next year. Tour and Album planned but if they decide to do festivals too... KISS...if they decide to do festivals next year. Aerosmith have their new album out this September Bon Jovi returning after their 3 year hiatus. Iron Maiden...in the mix too.

Rammstein i think are likely if they do any uk fest. Cant see acdc coming back tbh, think they will play 2 or 3 of their own huge arena shows, same for bon jovi. Maiden, aerosmith and kiss are all possible, although i think maiden will play soni if it is on. Add van halen to 2 of those and could be likely.

Richard Kruspe has confirmed Rammstein will be playing Euro Fests in 2013, if Soni isn't back surely it's Download?

Oh I know, I was more just commenting on the train of thought, and the fact that people will start going on about them playing as if it's likely. When it really isn't. Mcroper Richard Kruspe has confirmed Rammstein will be playing Euro Fests in 2013, if Soni isn't back surely it's Download? They've done the Euro festival circuit numerous times since Download started, and have never played Download. So doesn't really make it likely. Not saying it's impossible, but going by previous years it's way more likely they'll not do Download.

I don't think they were booked at all in 2010, all I had heard was they were in talks with a few festivals and opted for Sonisphere for numerous reasons - they wanted to play Knebworth and they were offered a few dates on the tour so was a better deal for them - I don't think it ever really went any further than just talks with Download. The feeling I get is the band just doesn't have any genuine interest in playing a UK festival, let alone Download. That doesn't mean they won't, throw enough money at them and I'm sure they'll change their minds, but there's clearly little else to motivate them, which is apparent by the fact they've done Euro festivals pretty much every year or two for the past 10 years and have been chased by Download for all of that time, and have never actually bothered to play. Like I said, not saying it's impossible, but going by previous years it's silly to assume just because there's (possibly) no Sonisphere (even though there likely will be next year), they'll automatically decide to finally do Download, they've rejected DOwnload numerous times in the past with no Sonisphere taking place.

Depends what works out on Rammstein's tour schedule Download has never fitted in with it! with Sonisphere it worked out as it's a touring festival so was easy enough for them to shift their extensive show equipment to each one! if Rammstein have a lot of dates free in June next year i can bet they will play Download but i'm sure many festivals are after Rammstein to play as they are in demand every year for summer festivals and Rammstein tend to do shows due to ease rather than money.

Rammstein were actually booked in 2008 along side Rage Against The Machine but both pulled out Rage(due to money offered by Reading festival which kind of went against the whole grain of the band) and Rammstein due to tour schedule.

Hopefully Slipknot are in the mix as well. As a heavier more metallic headliner.

The thing that's funny about Slipknot is, they haven't released an album since 2008, yet, when The Prodigy and Def Leppard for example were booked, everyone was saying "But they haven't released anything since the last time they played", for how long can Slipknot milk the same set list at Festivals before people get bored?

A combination of touring issues and Til's (?) wife being diagnosed with cancer I believe As far as I've read they weren't booked for 2010
