Frenchie for some reason the one about the new noses has been deleted!? 'mon McLaren It's still there, you just have to change the view options to show threads more than 30 days old. Good start to the season for McLaren, hope they keep it up. Also nice to see Di Resta nick a point in the dying seconds.

Great race from Button. Red Bull have lost there touch thank God! Even though we saw Vettel on the podium, he didn't actualy work his way there. A mix of Safety Car and gear box failure from Michael got him there. Should be a great season, and very much looking forward to seeing Mercedes progress.

Oh yeah, might be a good idea to make this the official F1 thread, rather then making one for each race.

Hmmm the good old f1 threads, how many races did we get in last year before the fantasy league fell apart, I remember I was winning though, courtesy of putting Vettel first for every race. Cracking race last weekend, looking like a good start to the new season, C'mon Button.

Mistakes are part of F1, but Alonso's win today has to be the most lucky win I have seen in years.

Synfection Mistakes are part of F1, but Alonso's win today has to be the most lucky win I have seen in years. But for that one slip, Perez would have had him today. It was definitely other driver's bad luck that helped him through as that Ferrari is not a competitive car. Surprised at how mediocre Hamilton was too. decent points but no real performance to speak of.

I love the fact that Narain Karthikeyan managed to end the races of the champions of the last three seasons in one race.

An HRT car "Karthikeyan" sitting in 10th at one point was my biggest eye opener! Fantastic race from Perez, even with that last minute mistake. Even Alonso admitted that there still not where they want to be, he knows that it was pure luck he won the race. Also this proved that Perez is more or less guaranteed a seat with Ferrari for 2013.

Just watched the highlights, love that they were screaming "EMERGENCY, STOP THE CAR" at Vettel but he didn't bother haha. Perez had a cracking ride, Ferrari won't be getting so lucky in the next races I don't think

Although the red flag and seeign so much of the safety car kinda slowed teh rce down on Sunday i still enjoyed it - I can see this season being closer than ever and there were some very very good drives for the conditions in Malaysia

yes Alonso was lucky ... but you have to give him and Ferrari some credit didnt make one mistake. and to get into that position in the first place in the 5th or 6th best car is a brilliant achievement anyway.... i would be biased being a huge Alonso fan! didnt expect to win one race this year tbh

I didn't get a single bit of coverage last year because I couldn't afford the expensive TV package that included the channel broadcasting F1 over here, but it changed a bit and I can watch the races this year. What a season to start! I think Hamilton can do better, Alonso got lucky (even though the coverage over here made it seem like he was a godsend and was guaranteed the win from the start ) Just watched the highlights, love that they were screaming "EMERGENCY, STOP THE CAR" at Vettel but he didn't bother haha. Coverage on that was also much different over here. My understanding based on the reporters is that they wanted him to retire just before the end of the race, but that someone must have checked the rulebook because just before he came in, they told him to stay out, something along the lines of "coming in is not a good idea now". Methinks they wanted to retire and make changes without a grid penalty in the next race, but realized that wouldn't be possible.

Or get sky. Seriously I was really ****ed off that I had to fork out. But what you get for it is unbelievably brilliant. F1, GP2, GP3 and now, live Indy Racing League. Plus all behind the scenes stuff. Alternatively, got a smart phone, tablet or decent pc? Ask someone you know with sky Hd package and download the sky go app. I'd give you guys my details but I'm using them on my phone and my gf is too. Can only use 2 devices...
