Enough has been said about the MCR/bottle carryon, but it was quite something to see and they were troopers for dealing with it.
Megadeth and Velvet Revolver underneath them
Architects coming onstage to the SHINRA theme tune from FF7
    Motley Crue
    Motley Crue
    Motley Crue
Me cursing everyone associated with the festival as the Sunday clashes almost brought me to tears. WHY CAN'T I SEE ALL THESE BANDS!?

By far the funniest in the campsite! Camp mangina!! voted campsite of the year on radio one :P
Cant even remember much from this weekend my chemical romance being bottled to **** and when Marylin Manson was on there was a group of us just chanting "brain.... brian... brian"
Sunday being the best day that afternoon of killswitch, stone sound and lamb of god was too good.
Machine head were good that year too! as were unearth.

Second time attending Download. Things I will remember:

        * Being 3 rows from the front, right in the centre for Korns headline set in the tent. Never will experience anything like that again at a concert. Started getting pissed off with people crowd surfing when I realised they were people getting carried over who had passed out!! Was total carnage
        * DevilDrivers circle pit
        * Lamb of Gods set- one of the best festival performances to this day
        * Nokia/Duracell tents were great, they NEED to bring them back
        * Best crowd/campsite. Meet so many great people

Again, an amazing experience at Download
"p.s your profile song is certainly the worst song i have ever heard, it doesn't even class as a 'song'. I shall no longer be viewing your profile because it takes so long to load before you can stop the bloody screaming!! x"

first year going, and very first festival for me
Some bands i enjoyed watching- Iron maiden, machine head, devildriver, lamb of god, korn, and bowling for soup.

Duracell tent that year was amazing, and i have too many great memories from that year to list them all here. Was also great being able to attend a festival in the inner track. didnt know at the time it would be the last :( (though i love the new arena)

my first full weekend festival. Only 14 years old and I was just walking around the site by myself without a care in the world whilst my dad would sleep. I think never feeling in any kind of danger is what made me love festivals so much.

Motley Crue and Korn just fucking killed it that year

2007 was the first festival we took our daughter to, just turned 14. i will never forget the look of total disgust on her face when a trouserless bloke ran up to us with his mate and asked her to smack his arse! she hid behind me and i walloped his backside with a cracker of a slap. good times, these days she's used to the antics!

2007 was a great year, starting by going to a boardie meet at the Krazyhouse in Liverpool one month before Download and meeting some awesome people off of these boards for the first time, most of whom I'm still friends with and in touch with now.
Then I went to see Lamb of God play a warm-up show (Sacred Mother Tongue supporting as a "local band" and before they were really known) at the Soundhaus in Northampton on the Tuesday night - the night before the campsite opened.  I helped roadie and drum-tech that night for SMT, and so at the end of the night made friends with LoG's drum tech/stage manager Mikey B, and also Randy Blythe, and took them for a lock-in at the local biker pub; The King Billy. (I am still good friends and in frequent contact with them both to this day - never had to pay to go and see a LoG concert since - and am looking forward to catching up with them again at this years fest).
Then the next day, hungover and suffering (and still a bit pissed probably), heading up to the camp sites.  The boardie BBQ on the Thursday was pretty cool, getting to meet a few more people from off the forums who hadn't made it to Liverpool, as well as catching up with everyone who I'd partied with in Liverpool a month before.  That night I got hammered again - a constant theme throughout the weekend, as it turned out!
As for the bands, the first one I really remember (after being drunk for half of the day) was Job for a Cowboy - I could barely stand but I can remember watching their set.  After that I watched Megadeth and then Korn with Joey, which was one of the best sets of the entire weekend!
Saturday I caught quite a few bands, enjoying HellYeah, Bloodsimple (God I wish they'd bring Vision of Disorder back!), and As I Lay Dying before doing a bit of shopping, followed by watching Bowling for Soup, Machine Head (awesome), Slayer (who were poor that year), Marilyn Manson (who was worse) and then going to see Motley Crue (where I passed out after 2 songs at the back of the tent)!  I also caught the very end of Linkin Park after I woke up and we made our way back around the arena.
Sunday I again saw quite a few bands, catching Chimaira, Unearth, DevilDriver, Lamb of God (AWESOME), Napalm Death, Killswitch (a bit of them), Dimmu Borgir, a BIT of Dream Theatre and then a bit of Evanescance and Maiden.  Also spent most of the day hanging out with Mikey B again after he and the LoG crew had packed down, and then was given a free backstage pass to their show in Colchester the following Tuesday night.  Also spent the last night in the camp sites having a great time with friends getting very drunk and messy!
Also should be noted that this was the last year when the arena was inside the race track!
I soooo wish there was a way they could bring THAT arena and layout back - it was THE BEST!  I know the current arena is bigger, but inside the track was better - FACT!  And you also didn't have to put up with a stupidly LONG walk from campsite to arena and back!
                        BRING BACK THE RACETRACK ARENA!!!!

Velvet Revolver not being as good as they should have been, Marilyn Manson being an absolute f*cking calamity at Download for not the first and certainly not the last, time, Korn being absolutely amazing in the tent and afterwards many, many people walking back towards the main stage armed with a bottle to throw at MCR but then finding out that they'd finished 30mins early! (wonder why....?) Both Motley Crue and Machine Head playing so well that neither band have been able to top those performances in the times I've seen them since, and the Sunday being an absolute bitch for clashes!
                          Coming Up:
                          Megadeth - Manchester
                          Download Festival
                          Hellfest
                          Bloodstock
                          Y & T - York
                          The Answer - Leeds
                          Alter Bridge - Manchester
                          Paradise Lost - Manchester

My first DL! Korn and Enter Shikari and going mad in the tent for them. Standing on the hill for the bottle fight before Maiden! Friend of a friend drinking poppers and then spewing for the rest of the night. Kissing a random woman we were camped beside Getting drunk and listening to Flyleaf in the campsite. Getting sunburn cause I didnt think you could get burnt when it was cloudy and getting heatstroke from not drinking enough water so that I didnt have to brave the portaloos! Oops
