Kiss, The Offspring & Lostprophets. What are your memories & highlights of 2008?

watching skindred for the first time, never heard of them before that, awsome. max cav and ginger on 2nd stage was great. wish i had stayed sober for kiss grrr i dont remember 1 bit of it . a poor lineup for dl standards but had the best time ever after the show n met new friends that we meet every year since

My first Download and despite what everyone else says I thought it was a fantastic lineup.  Disturbed, Seether, Alter Bridge, Pendulum, Offspring, Black Stone Cherry to name but a few!!
 
Wasn't too chuffed with the location though.  All those stones and dirt at the main stage and the 2nd stage in a car park didn't really do anyone any favours.

My first Download.  Thing i remember most was the pool party in the campsite.  Somone had somehow managed to bring in a massive swimming pool.  Was awsome :)

Lethal Bizzle. Despite being subjected to one of the worst crowd abuses ever that included people doing nazi salutes, monkey chants and other racist arseholes all baying for blood, rising above all that and turning the crowd in his favour. Lesser bands would have shat it and walked. He didn't.

The awesome 'bottom left hand corner' of Green Camp, which can only be described as perfect. We and friends try to make an effort every year to get to that spot.
 

Special festival for me, it was my first festival but i also had a backstage pass. Watched Motorhead from side stage which was a dream come true for me back then.

I couldn't afford to go this weekend... but still did, I wasn't missing download. So i worked a car park attendant for most of it. I got to see a few bands. Dillinger escape plan in the tent on friday night were epic!

Our first Download...... tailored our trip from Australia to be there...... had butterflies in my stomach and goosebumps as I drove into the campsite.

First Download, and my first festival for a long time having fallen out of love with them a little. But loved every moment of it.   That walk was a killer (I remember doing a round trip just to watch Skindred for 25 minutes) but despite the relatively average headliners (Offspring looked so bemused when they walked out on stage) I think the undercard was actually fairly strong and I still have fond memories of Ginger being on top form, and one of the biggest cheers of the weekend when the announcement came that Kid Rock was no longer performing.

I had to work this year ad I couldnt afford to go and as I worked for showsec I got paid to be there lol learned alot about the festival from the other side of things
Fave memorie after doing a 16 hr shift going to the village to see friends and have polathene girl(trish) force wine and booze down me
How I got up at 6am the next morning I don't know lol

My first download, unforgettable and my first proper festival, got myself face painted like star child on Friday waking up hungover on Saturday morning saw some great bands motorhead, judus preist, skindred and the Dath Vader intro music, wildhearts working the crowd and catching a egg, k rock pulling out and Disturbed getting long set, apocaylptica sing along Jonathan Davis ending my weekend on Sunday and partying on till morning to catch the train

Also the evening entertainment was the best out of all the years I have attended

Kiss, Judas priest, bleeding through, throwdown, and municipal waste.
 
also had great memories from the campsite that year (like every year i suppose) 
not a bad year, even with the long walk. was a good walk to sweat out the hangover :) 

First festival, well any proper gig really. Gets a lot of ****, but for me it was a good year both experience and band wise.

Alter Bridge, Skindred, Saxon, Kiss, Wurzel coming out with Motorhead.

My first Festival! It was magical. I was 16.
Having my mates dad drive us up on thursday after we finished a 12 hour shift. Putting on Download FM when we got close and having Eds dad shit his pants when JFAC blasted on!
 
Everyone says it was a crap year. The Headliners weren't AMAZING but still, Judas Priest then KISS? Testament in a tent? Cavalera Conspiracy? Brilliant.
 
It was my birthday on the monday so the whole Fest was just like one massive party! The Monster Army Camp was awesome and the Duracell Battery Tent was incredible, apart from when that guy jumped and no one caught him, I was twelve feet away and felt the thud!
 
Amazing year, holds a very special place in my heart. Just three mates from a little town, travelled up to Donington, the place of legend and rocking out and loving life.

This was my first festival ever at age 30!!!!!

I thought KISS were absolutely amazing. A mindblowing show. 
 
And I saw the almighty Saxon for the first time. The incredible experience in that big, blue tent would catapult Saxon into my favourite bands and make me a lover of classic heavy metal.

Having Black Stone Cherry recommended to me and thinking the guy who told me about them was spot on - cheers whoever you are
First time I saw Skindred too - bloody fantastic
