Got a lot of good memories of 2009 - it was our last year in Standard Camping with a big group of people. It was also my first year at download with my other half

One of the best was introducing an 18 year old Irish lad to his first ever pit to zero bull**** at Slipknot. He had no clue what was going on around him. Fair play though - he loved it and held his own!

Also drunken dancing to Faith No More with our tops off! One of the other girls with us had gone to see Motley Crue and came back absolutely tw*tted on Jager and without her top. She proceeded to get all the girls in our group stripped down to bras and then started on all the girls she could see standing around our little area of the arena lol

Was my first DL and it absolutely amazing. The weather was fantastic and the line-up was cracking. Limp Bizkit doing Break Stuff and the crowd going mental was my highlight as was the Prodigy set.

the limp bizkit/korn/FNM back 2 backness was brilliant. Slipknot played one the best performances ever at Download.  Seeing Pulled Apart By Horses, Black Spiders and Volbeat for first time was great, sadly didnt go see the computers or japanese voyeurs.

MASSIVE improvement on the previous year. Slipknots set is still to this day one of the most memorable performances of all time. When Corey started Duality.... WOW.

Probably my favourite festival so far. Slipknot blew me away, and I only watched them because my mates were! Journey, Steel Panther and KSE were also brilliant!

                            Slipknot really impressed me
Marilyn Manson was awful and i walked off
Prodigy v Slipknot was a horrible clash
ZZ Top were ace to chill to

So many good bands! Having to wait this long to see limp bizkit and they were so good, coming out to break stuff as well!!!
Everyone was going nuts, That was the best crowd reaction i have ever seen from a band.
Getting bored of faith no more (I know) getting bored of motley crue and going to see meshuggah who i didn't know and blowing me away!
parkway drive, killswitch engage, pendulum... all a good weekend.
Watching the majority of prodigy and then coming over just as slipknot started, slipknot were incredible!
Finding some glasses in the arena, putting them on and going up to some random guy saying "huh.. the funny thing is don't even wear glasses" bet he thinks I'm a  right bellend, but that will stick with him forever
Camped with my ex at the time so wasn't that much fun, coming with my new girlfriend this year and she's a nutter so should be fun haha :P

Fantastic weekend, cracking line-up, and weirdly my overriding memory is the torrential downpour on Wednesday followed by 4 of the most gloriously sunny days one could hope for.  Walking round the village by Friday felt like you were walking on a giant sponge cake.

After a two-year break from Download (lack of finance and line-up not good enough for me to justify breaking the bank) I returned to what was a fantastic festival with a great line-up. Memorable performances...Faith No More, Chris Cornell, Static X, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, ZZ Top to name a few! Got to witness how awesome The Answer had become. Saw them at Hard Rock Calling when Aerosmith headlined a few years prior, and thought they were ok, but Download set cemented me as a firm fan.

The layout. Finally, a festival layout where it wasn't too difficult to get to anything! Loved the fact you could travel between stages without having to look too hard to find them, or go traipsing around a stupid one-way system.

                                      The bad:

Missing Tesla, Buckcherry and Steel Panther. Only got into these bands after 2009, so oblivious to my own ignorance I missed these performances. Vowed never to make that mistake again and always check out all bands playing on youtube to check them out before going.
