What a great read, thanks for the insight HHH.
I saw a tweet from Andy the other day saying how very close they had come to having to cancel!!

Phil, that pic of you Tyla and Spike - I am so jealous as is Andy (Cyst) you as so lucky. Both men pulled out all the stops in their sets over the weekend. So glad Andy booked them both

Sounds like you had your hands full. When you're sitting there waiting for a band, you don't consider this all going on. We were sat by 2nd stage when Europe were cancelled, and remember seeing their banner go up. We wondered "well if they're not here, then why put the banner up?", but I can see why now, considering the sort of communication and how it goes on...right down to last minute sort of stuff!

The weather could have totally ruined the weekend if it hadn't been for a lot of hard work. I heard the rumour that Friday was being cancelled, but that was right just before 2pm when it opened.

It's a shame the village couldn't get more aggregate - I basically avoided as much of the village as possible because I struggled to walk through the mud. Made it to the loos and the lockers, then couldn't take any more and made my way (slowly) back to camp.

Great read there Phil, I've always enjoyed working festival much more than going.

Good read, thanks! I was getting really annoyed at people getting so angry about what was going on on friday... I'd hate to think how much worse it would have been had Friday have been cancelled. Hats off to everyone who worked hard to sort out the arena, a great job and a great weekend!

Really interesting read. Makes you think about just how much work had to be done to get the arena usable let alone with 70000 campers bitching about a little bit of mud to the stewards

Great read & nice pic of u with Tyla & Spike. We we were at Jagermeister stage for Quireboys & saw Spike hanging around for his old mate- whilst other members of Quireboys waited (and waited!) for a bus:

                Thank you!

Unfortunately nothing could be done about the rain, but it's clear everything was done that could be in attempt to cope with the situation.

Thanks, really interesting. It was clear that everything was stretched and people where all doing their best. Although this weather was (hopefully) a one off, any lessons learnt will improve things on normally wet days in the future. I'm looking forward to the next DL.

great read, cheers for the pic of Andy and Benji stood on a Metal Walkway, nice to know the organisers know they exist, now all they need to do is stop bogarting them
Congrats on the Jager btw, had some good times there.

That was an awesome read, thank you. Fortunately, I wasn't heading into the arena straight away from the campsite, as I had to go and collect someone from the Coach Park. Incidentally, you have no idea how much pleasure I got from seeing everyone pouring off the coaches with their nice new clean wellies and tents and watching their faces drop when they saw me standing there caked in mud.
