ORIGINAL: andy_sq I work in a bar/club and the numbers have increased very fast recently. It seems Student places are a new target. Without being harsh or offensive to anyone especially if you have been spiked, but its turned into an excuse for a lot of people (im at uni and have had quite a few people say it) for when they get mashed and do something stupid like sleep with someone - just because they regret and and were very drunk, does not equal date r@pe. However, it is definitely on the rise - and I dont think necessarily used for the intention of r@ping someone - what the other reasons are though to randomly spike someone, I dont know. This is a brilliant thread guys, thanks. I had some family stuff going on a few months ago, which still affects me and i got really down about it. It sounds strange but this myspace really helped: www.myspace.com/chrisadamreillyemotional i hope thats the right link - its a guy who has really faught through life, and is out there trying to help others from what hes learnt. I found it really helped. :) here is his video - dunno if it will work. xxxxxx http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2029603234

As a mum who has a 17 yr old with a serious scratchcard habit can i add www.gamcare.org.uk to the list. fantastic people who help kids and their families deal with what looks like a growing problem amongst 14 - 18 year olds. the national lottery has a lot to answer for

If anyone finds themselves in debt and want to get things sorted for before during and after the festival you can check out www.cccs.co.uk they are pretty helpful and all advice is free as it is a charity, =D

I'm a qualified accountant and have experience in helping people with debt problems. The best piece of advice I can give to anyone in debt is never borrow more money to clear off existing debts. Top up loans, consolidation loans or whatever you want to call them are very rarely a good idea. There is only one sure way to get out of debt and that is to curtail your spending. Difficult, I know, but true.

Glad to see this thread is still going. I found another site that is really good ... http://www.mdf.org.uk/ I just joined the other day, it for people who suffer with bipolar disorder and anyone who know's someone/carer for someone or just interested. Among other things, I was officially diagnosed as Bipolar last week, think I belong to the milder subtype bipolarII but I'm medicated and learning to live with it and recognise trigger's for any further hypomania/depressive episodes.

This country has gone silly bombarding people with credit deals and other things that seem good at the time. I agree that you should never borrow money to try and pay off debts, you just need to contact your creditors and work out a repayment plan that is affordable then throw away your credit cards !

This is a lovely idea! and if anyone is uncomfortable with going to webbys about things or just needs someone to talk to, you can talk to me. im not trying to steal the limelight here by being the 'good samaritan' its just that im not comfortable going to webbys.

thanks so much for this.. I suffer a lot from Depression, but never seem to have got the help I need except being prescribed pills, which I can't stand as make me feel like a zombie. I have had a break down, but luckily am in good health at the moment but that is mostly because I have found a release for my anger through heavy music and art
Don't become the thing you used to hate...

I think you may have someone targetting your club then as generally numbers over the UK are Down - Mainly due to Public knowledge and awareness. 86% of drinks spited are down by people in your group! So be aware of who your drinking with!!

Really down to earth, open to new ways of helping people, clean colourful offices and yeah. Decent bunch of people IMHO.
