Does anyone have any idea who will be opening for Sabbath on their December 2013 part of their tour?

Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats.

Is that it?! They're tiny, I was expecting Megadeth or similar.

Megadeth? They wouldn't fit with Sabbath. Uncle Acid are also fucking brilliant.

Wanna bet? They're opening for them in the US stretch of the tour. And I don't dispute that, I happen to like them they're just a little obscure in my opinion.

They've sold this tour out pretty much without the need for named support. In South America Megadeth are huge suggesting Tickets musnt have shifted well for Sharon to alllow some of the profits to be taken. Doesn't matter anyway Uncle Acid are ace and Sabbath are doing exactly what they should be and showcasing an up and coming act.

No, they shouldn't, because Ghost are bloody awful.

Still haven't listened to Uncle Acid, but heard nothing but good things about them so I'd say that's a very acceptable support.

You're both right and wrong. They're "official" genre is supposedly Psychedelic Doom Metal.

To be pedantic, they are more Psychadelic Stoner Space Rock.
Whatever you want to categorise them, they are chock full of heavy RIFFS and superb live.  They are the ideal support to Sabbath, and as Kean quite rightly said, they are showcasing an upcoming band, which is what the support slot should be about.
And Ghost must be the most over-hyped one trick pony on the gig circuit at present - and that's from someone who bought and enjoyed their first album.

Awesome sig thanks to SPITITOUT!!

I'd just like to add that Voodoo Six (less well known than Uncle Acid) supported Iron Maiden at the O2 Arena last month and I don't think anyone had a problem with that!

It's great how these huge bands give the smaller / upcoming bands a chance.

Although tbf I know that myself, and most of the people around me for Voodoo Six where more than just a little underwhelmed by their performance, I don't mind lesser known bands getting the support act gig, and Uncle Acid is class on album at least, not sure about live, but Voodoo Six where a decent enough example for me about why it is not always the best route to take, especially if you only have one support act.

Also out of interest has anyone received their tickets for this yet?

My ticketmaster account says the they have not been dispatched yet.

On Uncle Acid, they have been hyped up to a ridiculous degree for nearly two years now due to being on one of the more press savy labels that just happens to be enjoying the resurgence in all things 70's occult at the minute in Rise Above far more than others (just as they did with Ghost) Its been inevitable they would make an inroad into the public consciousness in some shape or form for a while now.
