I have a question, if someone can help.
Do you have to stay in disabled camping to get access to the disabled seating area?
Or can you produce a Doctors note to get a wristband for entrance to this area?
Just lack of seating was extremely painful for me and luckily there was the vodaphone area but was just wondering.

Traffic around the area will be very busy all day on Wednesday, so coming in via Melbourne is a good idea as you'll avoid the main site traffic and it brings you in to the RIP side of the site.

They check that your passports match the lead booker's name so it's a good idea to have some ID with you just in case (I personally have my driving license photo card with me). I also bring my booking confirmation with me too, but I do that for everything. I've never had my ID checked and I've never been asked to show my booking reference, they've only ever asked me to confirm the booking name when I've handed the passports over.

The free showers are individual cubicles with either a shared changing area (male and female are separate) or separate little rooms with the cubicle in and a bit of a changing area - they've used different types over the years. The pay showers (£1 a go) are rooms with a changing area and shower with shower curtain. They all have a locking doors.

Thanks, do you know where abouts the pay showers are? Are they the brick ones?

It does have a few narrow bits, there's an ancient causeway you have to drive along (seriously, its an ancient monument). There are passing places and coaches go across it no probs though. Melbourne's not too bad, as I recall.

Hello I just had a quick question regarding parking at RIP. I received my passports on the weekend however most people have mentioned that they have car sticker, are these required to be able to park next to your tent? If this is the case can I get this when I check in as it is to late for LN to send me one now.

You can get a sticker when you check-in, you won't need it before.

I think some of the roads through Melbourne are quite narrow.

Any updates on whether there will be a shuttle bus running from RIP to the Main Entrance (The Village) and what days it would run/frequency?

Hoping to visit friends in standard on Thursday and possibly friday morning but have a dodgy knee so trying to minimise the miles I walk over the weekend!

Useful service (especially of you've got a dodgy knee) but found it was quicker to walk last year as we had to wait ages for the bus

I'm sure I read somehwere that they will give you a car sticker upon check-in, should you not have one for whatever reason.

Roughly how long will we be waiting (do you think) if we came the normal way from the motorway Wednesday at 11ish?

I reckon you'd be stuck in traffic for about an hour (at least) - best thing to do would be to come off the M1 at 24/24a and go on the A50 and then come off at the A514 junction. That way takes you through Melbourne and you avoid all the main festival traffic. Adds a few miles on, but its better than being stuck in an enormous queue.

Stewards will show you where to park and ask how many of you there are, they will then give you space for how many people you confirm. Its not cramped, it may get a little cramped by Thurs eve, but we are spread out as much as possible. HTH x

When driving into the RIP campsite will we be directed to a pitch or can we choose where we pitch? Do we have a certain amount of space each or do they still try to cram you in? Can''t find any pics of this campsite when in use 😁. Just interested to know what we're in for! 😄

Last 12hr shift completed yesterday & now off until next Tuesday! 2 days to go, can't flippin' wait! 😄😄😄😄

Will there be bad traffic arriving about 1-2pm, worth a detour past melbourne?

Also I don't understand the verifying passports with bookings, I paid for both tickets and they were sent to my house so do I just need I.D? Or the card I booked with? I've written down the confirmation numbers, I have one for the deposit and one for paying off the balance. I can't remember if I got the arena tickets included but I must have if I paid £820?

Also what are the RIP showers like, are there private areas to get dressed?

Me and hubby will be in a 5 man tent and we've used a 4 or 5 man tent every year with no bother. Glad the thread is useful, it needs a tidy up when I have a bit of time.
