(HullHellHalifax)

Welcome to the new Download Festival Message Boards.

These new boards should prove more robust than the old ones, and have hopefully been arranged in a more useful fashion. Please feel free to leave feedback though, if we can make any improvements then we will.

Just a few points before you go crazy...

Please take a moment to read the Code Of Conduct (see links on the bottom of all pages).

Note that spamming and redundant posts will be less tolerated than they were under the old boards. There are more places for things to go, and if nothing else seems to fit there is the "Off Topic and then some..." forum. This is the only place random rubbish will be tolerated, and even then it has to conform to the Code Of Conduct.

All Daily Threads and Alliance Threads live in the Chit Chat forum. If anyone tries to post up a chat thread in any other forum, it will be deleted. All posts in the Chit Chat forum will be pruned after 15-30 days (depending on how often someone goes to perform that task ) and post counts will be deleted, so you can not boost your post count by posting in this area.

The Off Topic and Then Some forum will probably be pruned also, schedule to be determined when we see how busy it may get. Please put all jokes, spurious polls, Now listening threads into this forum. If something is in here and you feel it should be saved, please contact a moderator who may be able to move it to a more appropriate forum. The same comment regarding post counts for the Chit Chat forum exists here.

Posts added to threads merely to boost post count will be deleted. If you feel your post count should be higher, I recommend you make interesting posts on interesting subjects. Please have a point.

If someone comes along and posts a thread which seems incredibly stupid and should be deleted, or they're just looking to get flamed please ignore them and inform a moderator. It is usually apparent from the content of the post what a loser/lamer/peabrained idiot they are, it really doesn't take 50 people to add "me too" posts to tell them so. In fact if you do that you're giving them a lot of satisfaction, so don't fall into their trap. Being ignored and the thread/post quietly disappearing is the most annoying thing for these attention seekers.

The Rumours and Wishlist forum - Only moderators can start polls, and all "wishlists" that are going to be taken note of will be these polls. Please let a moderator know if you want a band adding to the polls and to the master list of which bands currently have polls going. We may find a way to organise rumour threads, but for now just post those.

For anyone who wants any further guides to responsible posting, there is a neat animation in the new to the festivals/forums forum, I suggest some people take the advice it contains on board.

Any updates to this information will be apended to this thread.

Enjoy the boards.
Cheers
Phil, Carrie and the Download Messageboard Team.
