It looks amazing, I counted over 30 bands I want to see. Seriously considering this instead of Download now.

The website has finally updated with "Ozzy and Friendz"

It doesn't seem to have gone down too well.

Will be in attendance, looking for a lift (or potentially got spaces going if we decide our motor will actually make it there & back...)

What clashes? Valley stage all weekend...

Still not sure how we're getting there this year - those that usually drive have decided either that they don't want to drive this year, or don't want to go all together.

Only ones I'm semi worried about are Entombed/Saint Vitus and Orange Goblin/Arson Anthem/england v Sweden!

We may have spaces in a van headed Glasgow - York/Manchester - Poole way. Can do pick ups in most places really. Looking around £150 all in p.p. Gimme a shout if interested, not sure on available numbers but gimme a shout. Sammy is coming with us I believe.

Ive decided to bin downloadoff this year and do hellfest alone as it looks awesome.
I booked the argon events £285 travel package on the website. Anyone used argon events before?

Booked a ticket for this last night. While it may share some of the same bands with the other two festivals I'm going to, the lineup overall is stunning (in my opinion anyway).

Tradingblood - What are your travel plans as far as ferries go?

Managed to get my mate to drive (just the two of us as it stands) but we're up in the air about the best route to take. I'm in Bristol, he's in Cambridgeshire, guess I'll head over to his place but not sure which ferry is cheapest/easiest from there.

The over night ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo is the only way I've done it - it's an straight forward enough drive to the festival, is less driving time than other ferries and you arrive at a good time on the Thursday afternoon

                                  Interesting read. Some summarised points:

                                  • Capacity of 35,000 per day
                                  • The Valley holds 4,000
                                  • The Warzone holds 6,000
                                  • The Alter and Temple are in one big tent which holds 8,000
                                  • The Mainstage set up is the same as used for KISS in 2010
                                  • More money spent on showers and toilets to improve conditions
                                  • Should be a sell out
                                  • Bands are getting filmed again and a documentary of the festival will be made
                                  • Guns N Roses will close Saturday
                                  • Metalcorner shuts at 4am
                                  • Van Halen were meant to play but cancelled
                                  • Metallica and AC/DC will never play because they're too expensive
                                  • They hope to have Maiden in the next couple of years but not next year as they look set for Sonisphere
                                  • Running order will be up in the next week

Also comments on Ozzy/Sabbath, Sonisphere getting cancelled and why the stages are 'themed'

                                    Hour Of Penance

Oh ****!! I didnt even see hour of penance.

I only looked at the hellfest lineup for the first time today and I was shocked at how good it is. I'm soooooo tempted to go.

Honestly I think Amenra, Refused, year of no light and Celeste make the price more than worth it for me as I ****ing love those bands. and then there are so many other gems.

How much does it cost to get to france these days?

With Sonisphere cancelled and Download in exam period and this after my exams decided to get a ticket. Can't wait! Lineup looks so epic. As a huge GN'R fan seeing both a Slash set and a GN'R set at the same festival is a huge plus (as well as Slash with Ozzy).

Interesting comments re the Ozzy set - wondering if it'll be a complete Sabbath set. Hoping for some solo songs with Zakk. Seeing Zakk on stage with Ozzy again will be epic.

Re costs getting to France,  Eurolines do cheap coaches from London to Paris. I'm thinking of coaching it to Paris and then getting the train to Nantes and then the shuttle bus.

Our ferries for a return was like £500, so between 4 it was around £125, as we have left it quite late.

We are getting the early Thursday ferry from Poole to Cherbourg & then a late night return crossing from Caen to Portsmouth so we can get a sleep & a shower.

Oh and aye, abandoned the van idea as I am sick of being fannied about by folk. Not bothering again, too much effort.
