So that's me done for this album cycle, they have today at the Thetford Forrest show with The Darkness and that's their final European date. I suppose I shall wait until the new year before starting the Black Stone Cherry June 2013 UK dates thread for their shows slotted around Download when they'll be here supporting their new album. They've promised to bring some sunshine then too!

Is there a suggested timeline for the new album? The current tour goes into september - so writing, recording, mixing and releasing album before next summer could be tight. Not overly bothered just curious - more hopeful we will get multiple visits on next tour cycle - So coming over before its release and then again after would please me ;-)
First Gig - Marillion - Brixton - 13/12/85 Last Gig - Skam - Route 44 Acocks Green 10/5 Next Gig - Muse - Coventry 22/5 15xDonington - 88/90/1/2/4/5/03/5/7/8/9/10/11/12/ 13

They're not going to take a year off like last time, things are picking up at home and they need to keep momentum up. Some stuff is written as they have plenty of time to kill while on tour. They'll have time to write and demo it all before Christmas and then record in January/February and the album should be out by the Spring but if it drifts to early Summer that's not a problem. They had 4 runs over here for BTDATDBS (2 festival, 1 support, I headline) so I would expect at the same but with 2 headline and 2 festival runs. They could do 1 arena leg with say 4 shows and then come back and play 10 academy sized rooms towards the end of that album cycle.

Rockstar Have they already been booked for Download 2013 then? If actual contracts have been signed or not that I don't know but they sure as hell think they're playing. They love Download and would have even dropped the last couple of Chickenfoot dates this year to come and play.

Ah ok cool, i hope they do as they always get a great turn out and are a great festival band, i wouldn't be shocked to see them headline 2nd stage.

Would be fantastic to see them again. Agree with the 2nd stage headliner comment.

That video is when they first thought 'Ok, something's just clicked'. Jon only mentioned it in an interview the other day. As for Second Stage headliner, I've discussed it at length with them and I'm still not sure they would want that slot. They want to play to as many people as possible and would rather be on Main. I will continue to push though as I think it's the way forward.

Flex_Valentino Blackstone Cherry are not 2nd stage headliner material, your letting your love the band take over If LN want to put them in arenas next year why couldn't they headline? Are they any smaller than Simple Plan, HIM, Cavalera Conspiracy, Motley Crue, Trivium, Alice Cooper, Rise Against etc who have all headlined Second in recent years?

Simple Plan, HIM, Cavalera Conspiracy & Trivium have all dropped down in recent years, there smaller then Crue & Cooper for sure. Rise Against are slightly higher then BSC, They were a pretty weak 2nd headliner at Download tbh, there crowd was not very big but they were going up against Sabbath so cant hold that up against them, Nobody wanted to go up against Sabbath tbh, a 2nd stage headliner needs to playing atleast 3rd from top main at Download, last year they played 5th.. with a new album they could play 4th top if they dont drop and continue to put out good music they will move up in due time

My criteria is Wembley headliner for Main stage and Brixton/Hammersmith headliner for Second stage. Once they're booked for their arena tour all this nonsense will end!! I personally think they'll play Main stage 3rd from top as that's the slot they want but they could more than fill a Second Stage headliner role.

alot of bands could fill a second stage headliner role tho but there is much bigger options out there, BSC would be 4th from top main band which is a good 50 min slot

Yeah 3rd from top sounds about right. Its what AB played before the Arena tour. A tour on which a lot of people preferred BSC.

i'd much prefer BSC on main and aiming for 3rd would seem about right, 4th on a bigger bill e.g. this years saturday would be ok However they easily on track to be worthy of headlining second stage - and are arguably as big as any of this years second stage headliners, playing and selling out the same size venues

That's the thing, they sold 30,000 tickets in March and are gaining all the time. This year I've seen far more ladies and youngsters at their shows, it's not just us classic/70's rock fans anymore.

Also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KV1ayVGz2o 5 Minutes in. "Any time we can come back and play here, we'll be here in a heartbeat". Watching these videos show they are one of the Download success stories. From the first slot in '08 with some tech issues, to pulling crowds like that.
