Oh also there are plenty of open source book websites to get free books from - your unlikely to get bestsellers like the latest Dan Brown and such but theres plenty available. Just download to your computer then transfer to your Kindle or IPad - just make sure you have the correct file type

I normally do download mine free, didnt know you could rip the audio ones of cds though

Tempted to get the Kindle fire HD as I have a massive collection of digital comics on my laptop. What annoys me with the kindle as a digital book storage device tho is that with all other digital media you can buy a hard copy and keep a copy on your portable device for no extra cost.If I buy a CD or DVD I can put it on an ipod/ipad/smartphone no problem but if I buy a real book and want to be able to read it on a kindle as well I have to buy the kindle version at an extra cost. Marvel comics are leading the way at the moment because when you buy any issue of their comics it contains a code to download a digital copy for free to for your portable device. When book publishers start doing that I may consider the kindle for reading more than just comics on.
