Just finished The Walking Dead Compendium 1 (Issue 1-48) Couldn't put it down! Fantastic series.....until the whole Governor bit comes into it, then it just went downhill for me. It's now fucing ridiculous. Man V Man, that's all it was from the middle to the end of the book. Seriously let down by it's turnaround.
Half the characters are gone, and whoever's left they got bit's missing.
I won't stop reading though, gonna grab the rest in Volumes soon. As I said, that's my opinion.

I am not a superhero type comic book fan but I do love Neil Gaimen, particularly his Sandman series and also Lucifer by Mike Carey, and currently working my way through Hellblazer, DMZ, Walking Dead and Wasteland

Everyone needs some Jonathon Hickman. The Nightly News and Pax Romana are both fantastic. Starting on Red Mass for Mars.

Im actually looking for some new graphic novels to read - I wandered around Forbidden Planet for ages the other day and just couldnt find the inspiration to read anything. I love Neil Gaimen and Mike Cary, Brian Wood, anything with monsters but not super hero stuff, love Hellblazer type stuff - someone please suggest something new for me to get my teeth into

Not a massive fan of Superheroes and such but I do appreciate the art of Graphic Novels, in particular Frank Miller's work. I based some of my university work on Sin City simply because I fell in love with the style. Also.. I say I'm not a fan but I do get caught up in the hype around films.. so I'm currently loving Marvel.

Like the OP, I've never found anything that could beat The Preacher, something with the world Ennis and Dillon created there that I find higly entertaining. At the moment I'm reading The Boys (Ennis) and Lucifer (Carey). Read mostly stuff by Alan Moore, Garth Ennis and Frank Miller the last years, but in my early teens I was a massive Marvel fan, once had an complete Amazing spiderman collection, witch I traded in in the early 90's to get money to buy other Todd McFarlane stuff when he quit Marvel

Neil Gaiman has announced at Comic Con that he's going to do another Sandman series. Kind of a prequel thing by the sounds of it. This makes me very happy

I bought Batman: Year One and really loved it! Ordered The Man Who Laughs because it's supposed to pick up where Year One left off, and The Walking Dead Volume 1. This looks like the start of something beautiful

Started re-reading Preacher again recently and I'm up to book 4, totally forgot how brilliant it is! Downloaded all the issues of Y The Last Man that I haven't got so I'll start on them after I've finished Preacher, then read the latest isses of The Boys that I've downloaded as well. Also rooted out Batman Year One and The Dark Knight Returns (which either I've read and forgot or never read) so gonna give them a read at some point as well.

Only got into comics/graphic novels about a year back. Recently finished Avengers/Marvel "Siege" and the previous events like Civil War and Secret Invasion. Working my way through Walking Dead as I love the show.

If anybody is looking for a decent non superhero series check out Jonathan Hickmans "Manhattan Projects" its an alternate history version of WWII with sci-fi and paranormal influences following characters like Einstein and Oppenheimer as they develop more and more bizarre weapons for the war effort. As for superhero stuff im still in morning over the ending of Amazing Spider-man after 700 issues of which I have read all of them. I have no doubt that the original Peter Parker will return but I doubt it will be the same again. Not been to keen on lots of the recent Marvel re-launch stuff but Uncanny Avengers has been quite good so far.

Recently bought Batman: Night Of The Owls (The New 52) and Hellboy Library Edition: Volume 1. Should've cost me £61 but because my cousin works in the store I got 40% off so only paid about £36 Just reading through Night Of The Owls and it's really good, it's a collection of all the individual New 52 issues involving the Court Of Owls story all in one book.

I've just downloaded the Marvel comics app for my iPad and am rereading some of the stories I read when I was a kid. This is really a nostalgia thing, though, and I probably won't be reading any newer stuff.
