The Wallis Maybe I'm just tired, but I can't make any sense whatsoever of what he's saying here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/22231448 Does anyone speak Bernie? It's like gibberish. He is saying the Bahrain government should have called the race off because of the publicity it has given the rebels/terrorists depending on your point of view on things. He kin of has a point you only ever hear about it around race time and it will soon be forgotten because the US doesn't want regime change in Bahrain.

I think he's trying to give honest answers, but doesn't want to flat out state that Bahrain is a cash cow and a half, and he doesn't give too much of a damn about domestic issues over there, as long as safety is guaranteed. Whether that's the right stance to take is a whole other matter.

Hey guys! I was just browsing and discovered this thread, didn't even know there was a sport section! I tend to hide out in the campervan forum mostly. Just thought I'd come and say hello, being a massive F1 fan. Have scrolled back through the last five pages or so - I originally started at the beginning until I realised that was 2012 . You've had some interesting discussions. If I may throw in my two pence worth about 'Vettelgate', I've met him on several occasions and he has always seemed to be very genuine, but I've certainly lost respect for him now. My big problem with it all is that Webber was doing as he'd been told. It wasn't a fair fight, as he didn't expect to be overtaken. I'd rather there were no team orders at all, but if there are, they can't only apply to one driver. And believe me, Mark Webber is usually the very last driver I'd stand up for! Anyway, I'm assuming we're all going to DL...but who's going to Silverstone?

Big question is, is this Alonso's year? I think he fully deserves it. Great drive today.

DivaDan Big question is, is this Alonso's year? I think he fully deserves it. Great drive today. He does deserve it. As a lifelong McLaren fan, I detest Ferrari, but Alonso is the most complete driver in F1. I thought he should have had it last year tbh. There's no denying Seb is good, especially in the best car, but Alonso is good in any car. I still think he threw his toys out of the pram over Lewis tho!

Monaco doesn't normally do much to excite, but this could be a really interesting race today. Given the way that Mercedes struggle when it comes to race pace, we could see everyone just a little slower and bunched up than usual and the race is anyone's asa result. A repeat of yesterday's weather would put the cat amongst the pigeons too.

So Canada. Apart from the wall of champions, I can't find anywhere really that Perez has the chance to royally piss off Mr Button.
